yes, boils are very contagious, you will get boil when you had contact with someone with a boil,
 why?
 Boil is caused by a bacteria, a staphylococci bacteria, when this bacteria, get on your body, you will get the boil.
When this bacteria get on your body, and penetrate your sin through a cut, wounds or opening on your skin,  it feeds on your bloods, excrete on your body,
 your body  become irritate and inflammations, pains, itching begin in the boil area.

 How?
 a bacteria can get on your body through physical contact, like hand shaking, hugging, kissing etc.
 cloth sharing, sharing of towels etc.
using of same sponges and blanket with a boil patient.
 How to protect yourself
 the best way to protect yourself is to , especially s are attached to boil patient  is to do the following
daily bathing with anti-fungal soap, regular washing of clothes with disinfectant. Avoid using public swimming pool, you can’t tell who is free from boil or not,
do not use same hot tub with strangers,
how do you know you have contacted the boil.
 When you stage having boil symptoms then, no doubt you have contacted the boils, boil symptoms like  irritations, itching, pain, tenderness, , this is are the first thing you will see when you have boils, the ,I can say, these are the initial stages of boils.
 The next thing you will see, are whitish lump on your skin, this can be tender, and painful,
At this stages, you should start applying warm compress on the boil.  This will make the boil to pop up , drained and be cured.
 Boils are very contagious, avoid using clothes, towels used by a boil patient, avoid swimming in public pools with strangers, maintain good personal hygiene and stay safe.
