Boils are
bacterial infection, it can spread from one person to another through physical
contact, or when sthe bacteria transfer from one person to another. These bacteria can only cause the boil when
they penetrate into the skin, through a cut, wound or a scrape.

I can
say, you shouldn’t, when you have a
boil, the bacteria are already in your
body, clothes, under-wears, the boils itself, the pus in it is draining and etc. when you use the
public swimming pool, this bacteria can get into the water and spread to other
people . therefore in order to prevent
this boil from spreading to other people,
you shouldn’t use the swimming pool.
Though must public swimming pool water bodies
are treated with chemical that can easily kill these bacteria, but I recommend
you avoid swimming to be on the safer side.

the ocean water is salty, salty water can frustrate bacterial
growth, interrupt with the chemical
process that support this bacterial survival, therefore, when you swim in ocean, the salty water can
kill these bacteria and the boil
infection won’t spread to other people.
But this is not a 100% remedies, the best way
to avoid these bacteria spread, is to avoid using public water bodies for
swimming.

To be on the safer side, bath again after
the swimming, wash your swimsuit also.
Swimming with boil on your body is not advisable, if you
must swim, then you will have to cover your boil completely. If you suspect
boil infection after swimming , then you should bath again after the swimming,
you should use strong antibacterial soap and bath with clean water after the
swimming.
